The
2005 Swim Across the Hudson
Bannerman Castle |
To show their support for the fight against multiple sclerosis, participants swim three miles across the Hudson River, starting in Piermont and ending on the shore in Irvington. The 2005 event is the 14th consecutive year for the swim. Kayakers and support vessels accompany swimmers across the Hudson River to provide safety. Each swimmer is required to raise a minimum of $350 in sponsorship. Kayakers and volunteers are also encouraged to raise money, but pledges are not required of the supporters. |
